In Malta cosmetic surgery, elective surgery and cosmetic dentistry takes place in state-of-the-art private hospitals and clinics, located in the major cities and towns. Presently, Malta has three main private hospitals.
The Saint James group has an 80-bed private hospital in the town of Sliema, a smaller 17-bed hospital in Zabbar as well as a dedicated cosmetic dermatology clinic under the name of Transforma in Attard, an outpatient clinic in Mosta, and a clinic in Tripoli, Libya, as well as a dedicated eye clinic within the Sliema hospital.
Sliema was once a quiet fishing village but it is now one a top tourist destinations, with ancient forts and a stretch of coastline. The beaches and bays between Sliema and St Julian's Balluta Bay attract sunbathers and swimmers in the summer months, and the promenade is ideal for brisk winter walks.
Santa Venera is where Saint Phillips, a 75 bed private hospital is located. Santa Venera is a modern and urban area with an ancient Aqueduct (the Wignacourt Aqueduct was built in 1615 to improve the supply of drinking water for Valletta) and is nestled between Mdina and the capital city of Valletta.
Because Malta is a nice compact size the distances are very short so getting to and from the hospitals (and all around the islands) is straightforward via taxi, car or public transport. The private hospitals in Malta offer private en-suite rooms with all mod-cons. Overnight arrangements can also be made for relatives or friends accompanying patients.
